From DJs to stylists, photographers, make-up artists and Instagram queens, these are the #PrettyToughGirls, a group of trending power breakers responsible for the Pretty Tough zine, available from all Baby G and Casio stores.
But who are they, and why should we listen to them?
Lily Mercer

Mercernary
Self-professed “hair like a mermaid, mouth like a sailor,” Mercer is the pottymouthed Londoner who somehow finds time to DJ for Beats1 and Rinse FM as well as edit Viper. A hip hop encyclopedia, Mercer has championed Darq E Freaker and Schoolboy Q. She explains: “I tend to describe my favourite as alternative or underground, which I feel sometimes makes it seem weirder than it is.”
Danielle and Nicola Kahlani

Seeing double
The Kahlani twins are the duo bossing hair and make-up, working with brands including Topshop, Browns and Nasty Gal. They’ve also worked with Haim, will.i.am, Florence Welch and MIA. Question is, who will style them when they become huge too?
Phoebe-Lettice Thompson

Cool as an iceberg
Thompson started out on Made in Chelsea in 2013. But don’t let that put you off.
She has since followed in the footsteps of every other MiC star by launching a fashion line. However, she had already cut her cloth in fashion, working full-time whilst shooting the show. Which makes MiC seem even more amateurish. Thompson explained: “I think I’m one of the only cast members that had a full-time, contractual job while filming.” Figures.
Having worked for Tatler, Wonderland and American Vogue, she launched her Illustrated People collection last year. Also working as a photographer, she cast, styled and shot the lines campaign images. Which makes her more together than Spencer Matthews.
Kylie Griffiths

A different Kylie
Griffiths is a stylist that freelances for Nike, Converse, H&M and Uniqlo as well as artists as varied as Seth Troxler, current toast of the underground, Tinashe, and, er, 5 Seconds of Summer. She’s somehow retained her cool despite that last name featuring on her CV.
Siobhan Bell

Bell tolls
Having worked in PR at record labels including Warner, Atlantic and the ultra-hip Cash Money, Bell turned to making music and DJing instead. She’s plays rising rappers like Yung Lean, Future Brown and Lil Ugly Mane.
Joanna Kutcha
Kutcha is a 19-year-old Polish model. Clocking up well over 700,000 Instagram disciples, she told i-D: “Social media can be art. It can be comedy. It can be political. Then there are people who think everything I post is complete nonsense.”
Nonsense or not, Kutcha’s rise to fame looks set to break her out of the internet and onto the catwalk with Cara and co.
